The Divide are an English rock band formed in Medway in 2024. The lineup consists of Josh van der Beeck (lead vocals), James Getting (lead guitar), Jamie Geddes (bass), John Hughes (drums) and Mark Nutting (rhythm guitar).

Founded by Josh van der Beeck and James Getting after connecting online in August 2024, the band was completed through a series of auditions, with Jamie Geddes joining on bass, followed by John Hughes and Mark Nutting in March 2025. The Divide began rehearsing at Medway Sound in Rochester, where they shaped their early sound.

Focusing on a stripped-back, “less is more” approach, The Divide write music built purely around vocals, guitars and drums. Their sound has been described by Rolling Stone as “a unique sound that blends genres.”

The band released their debut single Lust to Love in October 2025 and are primarily active across Kent and London.
